Runners & walkers of all ages welcome! Attend this annual 5K & 1 Mile Family Fun Walk Saturday, September 15 at Put-in-Bay, Ohio. The race begins near The Boathouse Restaurant downtown. A scenic course, much of it winding along the island shoreline, participants consider this to be one of the most beautiful runs in Ohio. Preregister for discount, family discount also available. Registrants receive a discounted fare aboard Miller Ferry to Put-in-Bay. Prizes & unique engraved Lake Erie stones awarded to several age levels, male & female. Sign up at http://www.hermescleveland.com/ or http://www.5katputinbay.com/.
Make it a day (or more) with friends & family on the Island. Bring the family, spend the entire weekend. Proceeds benefit Mother of Sorrows Church. This event is sponsored by Miller Boat Line.
Participating runners will get $3.00 off adult round trip ferry passage to Put-in-Bay on the day of the race.
Travel Tips: We suggest catching the 8:30 am Miller Ferry from Catawba to Put-in-Bay. Plan to arrive at the Miller Ferry dock about 30 minutes before scheduled boat departure to allow plenty of time to find a parking spot on Catawba. If you plan on bringing your car to the island we recommend to plan to be at the dock 30 minutes before the 8:30 boat departure. There is also a 7:30 am and 9:00 am ferry, but we recommend the 8:30 as best for the 5K runners.
Just mention to the person at the Miller ticket booth that you’re a 5K runner and they will give you the discounted ticket price.
When you arrive on the island you can take the $3 bus that will be waiting to transport people from the Miller dock to downtown, or it’s a 5 minute drive in a car.
After you pick up your bib and long sleeve runner shirt at the Boathouse Restaurant (race headquarters), there are lockers at the Bath House and at the PIB Chamber of Commerce if you have items that you don’t want to run with. Both are only about 400 ft. from the BoatHouse Restaurant.
