"Twenty years from now you will be

more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the

ones you did do.

So throw off the bowline,

Sail away from the harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore. Dream. Discover."

Planning an Island Wedding
The quaint, casual waterfront community and island allure make
Put-in-Bay a top choice for destination weddings. Put-in-Bay is centrally located in the heart of Midwest; for decades visitors have regarded the Lake Erie Islands as "America's Handiest Islands" - making Put-in-Bay and Middle Bass Island an ideal gathering place for the couple who wants to share their celebration with family and friends. Couples often incorporate their Wedding Day into a Wedding Vacation. This allows guests and family to enjoy a getaway combined with the wedding festivities.

Transportation
Friends and family will be delighted with the traditional ferry ride and you will find our service
an easy way to make travel arrangements. Miller Ferry provides five free parking areas
available to guests visiting for the day - or longer. Ferry dock attendants with golf carts can
help with guests' luggage and assist any passenger who may have difficulty walking.
On Put-in-Bay your guests can taxi or rent a golf cart to their lodging. Also, buses run from
the Miller Dock to downtown (approximately three and a half miles). If your overnight guests
prefer to bring their car to Put-in-Bay vehicle reservations not required. During peak season
Friday afternoons to Put-in-Bay, and Sundays returning from Put-in-Bay are often busiest for
the vehicle line.
Why choose Miller Ferry for your Wedding guests? Along with the experience of a traditional
ferry trip, Miller offers the most frequent trips, the only vehicle transportation, acres of free mainland parking and value fares.

Ceremony Locations
Couples may choose to celebrate their nuptials on the sprawling lawn near the base of the landmark Perry's Memorial, on board a boat, in a historic island home on either Put-in-Bay or
Middle Bass Island, or along the waterfront.
See our Lodging Page for cottages, hotels, guest homes, and bed and breakfasts on Put-in-Bay and Middle Bass Island. There are two
churches on Put-in-Bay: Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church and Saint Paul's Episcopal
Church. The Put-in-Bay Yacht Club and the shaded village park gazebo and waterfront State Parks are also popular sites. Put-in-Bay hotels and quaint bed and breakfasts can provide meeting rooms, outdoor tent areas and catering arrangements.

Rehearsal Dinners and Receptions
Caterers are available to fit your wedding needs - ranging from casual garden buffet style to exquisite sit down meals. The Put-in-Bay Chamber Wedding Page lists resources.

Marriage License
Couples who reside in the state of Ohio can purchase a marriage license in the couple's
home county. Non-Ohio residents must purchase a marriage license at the Ottawa County
Courthouse in Port Clinton, Ohio, in order to be married on Put-in-Bay.

Tips
Consider purchasing booklets of Frequent Floater tickets to distribute to your wedding guests. This saves a bit of time and money. Send emails or mail hard copies of Directions to the Miller Ferry Dock at Catawba, ferry parking, Miller Ferry schedule, and the Miller Ferry toll free office number 800-500-2421.
Also - Save yourself additional worry by hiring an Island Wedding Planner.
