Description:PERRY’S VICTORY TO HOST WORLD RANGER DAY EVENT AND JR RANGER LUNCHEON
PUT IN BAY, OH. — The Fourth Annual World Ranger Day will be celebrated around the world on Saturday, July 31, on the 19th anniversary of the founding of The International Ranger Federation (IRF), an organization that supports the work of rangers as the key protectors of parks and conservation. World Ranger Day will is also a day to remember the many rangers who have been injured or killed in the line of duty while protecting national and state parks around the world.
Perry’s victory will join our Nations National Parks in celebrating this event with a Junior Ranger Luncheon and a 7 p.m. showing of the international documentary entitled The Thin Green Line, produced by Australian ranger Sean Willmore. The film, which will be shown at more than 500 locations around the world on July 31st, shares the lives and stories of rangers on six continents and in 19 countries. The showing is free and open to the public and free popcorn will be provided for guests to enjoy during the show.
The Junior Ranger Luncheon will be held at the Perry’s Victory Visitor center from 11a.m. to 1p.m. “Kids will get the opportunity to have lunch with National Park Service Rangers and Staff and talk to them about their jobs and lives with the national park Service” said Superintendent Blanca Stransky. Lunch will consist of macaroni and cheese, franks and beans, carrot sticks, ranger cookies and juice and will be provided to participating children free of charge. After lunch kids will have the opportunity to participate in our Ranger Field Relay and dress up like fire fighter, living history and maintenance rangers and learn all about the jobs that these great people do right here at Perry’s Victory every day!
