April 27, Plant Program: Why Native Plants Matter
Just in time for Arbor Day ~ Join us on Thursday at the Aquatic Visitor Center at 7:00 pm to hear Gale Martin’s presentation “Why Native Plants Matter.” Gale operates Natives in Harmony, a plant nursery dedicated to the production of native wildflower, forbs and trees. Natives in Harmony provides the plants for the annual LEIC Native Plant Sale. Gale will focus on why native plants are so important for garden and restoration efforts and then focus also on her own growing efforts. This program will show how important it is for pollinators, birds and wildlife to have native plants as part of our preserves, landscape, and backyards!
