Put-in-Bay Aquatic Visitors Center

Learn more about Lake Erie by exploring its rich history and experiencing science up close at the Aquatic Visitors Center on Lake Erie’s South Bass Island near Put-in-Bay, Ohio. AVC tours are free and open to the public from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays June 20 – August 25.

Activities include inspecting Lake Erie’s complex ecosystem through hands-on displays, observing and identifying live fish in aquaria, and discovering current research to protect Lake Erie. Enjoy family-friendly programs to learn about bugs, snakes, fish and the natural world. Kids under age 16 can borrow fishing gear & bait and fish for FREE. Admission to the Center is also FREE.

Group tour reservations are available in mid-May through October at a cost of $4 per person.For more information about the Aquatic Visitors Center or AVC Adventure half-day field trips contact the Stone Lab Office at 419-285-1800.
